The 4^th CALYPSO workshop is jointly organized by the State Key Laboratory of Superhard Materials of Jilin University and Nanjing University of Science and Technology, and will be held in Nanjing University of Science and Technology from October 21^st to October 23^rd, 2016.

CALYPSO is one of the widely used structure prediction methods. CALYPSO users are currently beyond 1200, spreaing out over 50 countries. The goal of this workshop is to bring together the experts in the field of structure prediction and CALYPSO users to discuss the latest progress of CALYPSO method, and its applications.

We believe that this is a unique opportunity for the CALYPSO users to learn more details on how to perform the structure searching on clusters, two-dimensional (2D) layers, surfaces, 3D crystals, as well as how to design novel functional materials (e.g., superhard or optical materials).

Our workshop program will be consist of theory lectures and hands-on tutorial sessions. The workshop topics will focus on the basic principle of the main architecture of the method, the technical details of the most recent implementations and the latest applications of the CALYPSO code in material science.

Particular emphasis will be placed on a tutorial session about the installation of the code and the calculation of a few basic examples. Practice will be carried out on dedicated computers. Our ultimate goal is to train the workshop participants to become experts in CALYPSO.
